Jingle All the Way Invite & Adopt a Family

This holiday season the Green Bay Gymstars Gymnastics team worked hard and donated generously to support two great events – our traditional Adopt-a-Family as well as our Home Gymnastics Meet.

The gymnastics team pulled together to support three of our 21C families this year.  Everything from toilet paper, snow apparel, socks & underwear, toys, and even food items … the gymnastics families donated very generously to make the season brighter for these three hand-picked families.  When we were done collecting we had over ten large boxes filled with gifts for the families to share on Christmas morning.  It was a very heartwarming sight to see the kindness the team brought to these deserving folks.

Over 500 gymnasts from twelve teams throughout the state came to compete at our meet this year.  Many fantastic memories were made as teams pulled together through the good and the bad.  The gymnast’s families worked from 7am to 10pm to organize another fantastic event!  Many families dedicated a large portion of their “last shopping weekend” to help out for the majority of the weekend.  It wasn’t quite cold enough to do an ice sculptor this year, but the Y was nicely decorated for the holidays allowing families to feel that festive spirit as they enjoyed their weekend here in Green Bay.

I’m very privileged to have such wonderful, supportive families supporting our Gymnastics Program here at the YMCA – their ability to lead by example will surely help these young ladies to grow up knowing the value of social responsibility!!!

Green Bay Gymstars Tornado in at Nationals

posted Jul 2, 2015, 2:41 PM by Green Bay Gymstars   [ updated Jul 9, 2015, 7:32 AM ]

The Green Bay YMCA was proud to send 10 gymnasts to the 2015 YMCA National Gymnastics Championships in Wichita, Kansas June 23-27.  These girls, Levels 6-9 & Gold, experienced three exciting days of competition among nearly 2,000 athletes from around the nation.

After a warm welcome at opening ceremonies, the gymnasts suited up and really impressed the coaches and judges on the floor, vault, beam, and bars.  We had a number of first time participants at this year’s competition and they can’t wait to attend again next year when it is held in Long Beach, California.

Everyone who competed gave it everything they had and walked away successful and better for their experiences.  Eight of these ladies took home medals for the great work they did.
